Some Haiwans can slip out of their collars easier than others, depending on their fur texture, and the shape of their neck compared to their head. If your Haiwan has ever slipped out of, or backed out of its collar, you may want to consider a martingale collar for safety reasons.

Martingale collars are helpful for training! It tightens slightly if your Haiwan pulls on the leash, but not so much where it will choke or harm your Haiwan in any way. If you prefer to give your Haiwan slight tugs on the leash while working on leash manners, the martingale is a great option.

As this is a slip collar, please measure your Haiwan's head size instead of its neck size. This collar needs to be able to slip through your Haiwan's head.

Never store the collar under direct sunlight or close to a heating source, as this will dry out the leather.
Don’t use the collar when you go for a swim (leather doesn’t like water very much).
If the collar gets wet, wipe it off with a dry cloth.
If the collar gets dirty, dry it off with a damp cloth, or use a soft leather cleaner and follow up with a leather protection creme.
If the collar is used as an everyday collar, it will wear out faster. Try to choose between different collars during the week.

P.S. Think of your Haiwan's collars in the same way as a pair of shoes, and choose a collar for the weather and occasion. That way your collars will last longer!
